I adore the crunch you get from the crushed pretzels, and the pineapple gives the recipe a super-tropical vibe. Plus, the glorious Cool Whip gives the entire dessert a creamy texture and taste that you can’t beat!

Although there’s a lot to love about this recipe, I’m a fan of its low-bake approach. You’ll have to put it in the oven for 7 minutes, but other than that it’s entirely no-bake!

And when you break up the baked portion of the dessert with a fork? It turns into a rich and buttery mix-in that adds tons of depth to this dish.

If you’re wondering what the “fluff” in this recipe consists of – let me fill you in!

It’s a mixture of cream cheese, sugar, Cool Whip, and pineapple. It tastes like a tropical cheesecake filling, and I’ve been known to eat it out of the bowl by the spoonful (guilty!).

Sure, this dessert isn’t exactly great for the waistline. But when you take your first bite of that pretzel-filled, creamy goodness, you’ll be reaching for more without a care in the world!

Recipe Tips and Tricks

  • If you’re using canned fruit for this recipe, you need to drain it first. Otherwise, you’ll have a soggy and overly watery dessert on your hands!
  • Don’t want your pineapple pretzel fluff to be too sweet? Use unsweetened canned pineapple! Otherwise, fresh pineapple works!
  • To make your pretzels extra crunchy, it’s worth baking them in the oven for a few minutes before mixing them into your dessert.

Variations and Substitutions

  • If you’re not a fan of pineapple, you can switch things up with any other fruit you like! Cherries and strawberries are delicious, but virtually any fruit works well.
  • The base recipe for this pineapple pretzel fluff is delicious, but you can always top things off with whipped cream.
  • If you don’t have Cool Whip to hand, you can make your own stabilized whipped cream. It’s just as good, trust me.
  • I love topping this recipe with maraschino cherries, berries, and mini marshmallows. But you can jazz this up with virtually any topping.

Storage Instructions

This Pineapple Pretzel Fluff can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

Just check that the texture hasn’t changed before eating it!

Can I Freeze?

This Pineapple Pretzel Fluff can technically be frozen. But it might lose some of its structural integrity when defrosted.

Plus, the pretzels will probably lose their crunch (which would be a tragedy!).
