This was so easy to make and my kids and I loved it. German pancakes are such a versatile recipe, you can do so much with just one recipe. I put a teaspoon of vanilla, and I used two eggs instead of an egg and an egg white (I have a hard time finding a good use for extra yolks). I took the advice of others and only cooked it for 15 minutes. I used a pie pan because I don't have a cast iron skillet. What I did was break up the butter and place it in chunks all over the dish, then placed the dish in the oven until the butter was melted and the pan was hot, then I took it out, poured the batter in, and put it back in the oven once it was completely preheated. It was perfect, and even though there was only one tablespoon of butter it was as buttery as you would expect a German pancake to be.

I thought that these were very easy to make but I found that they were over cooked. After reading the other reviews I will try baking them 15 minutes to see if that was the problem.

This was a delicious breakfast! I sliced up a banana and placed it on the bottom of the skillet after melting the butter and before pouring in the batter and then topped it with some blueberries before putting it in the oven. The fruit additions made it more interesting and soooo good. I would compare it to a clafoutis in that the texture was sort of custardy.

This was so easy and so good. Plus I added blueberries when stuck the pan in oven - so good I was like a blathering idiot trying to describe how yummy it was. Tasted like it was 1000 calories.

This is always a hit with my whole family. They usually request that I make 2 for the 4 of us. Kids like it with syrup. I prefer the powdered sugar and fresh berries. So easy to make as well!

We love this recipe! I sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup and fresh berries. We make this for brunch along with spinach-cheese bake (cooking light) and it's a great and easy menu for entertaining. I keep meaning to try it with vanilla as suggested...

This 'pancake' is also called a Dutch Baby or German Pancake which was something I grew up with. They are traditionally served with butter, lemon, and a light sprinkle of powdered sugar. The combination between the sweet pancake and the sour lemon is amazing.

Excellent! I substituted rice milk and decreased the sugar by half. It came out beautifully- light, fluffy & delicious. So much easier and less mess than conventional pancakes!

This was such a great breakfast! I halfed the recipe and added 1/2 a tsp of vanilla. I also baked it in a pie tin for about 15 minutes since I do not have a cast iron skillet. It turned out great!

I love this dish and I make it at least once a month. We eat it with low sugar syrup and jam. Delicious!

I made a half recipe for two people and baked the pancake in a small baking dish for 15 minutes. It was very moist and delicious with the eggy taste that I love! I served it with berries on the side. I had been searching for a light version of the Swedish oven pancakes I have always made and this one is a winner! Three points on WWers for half a pancake. Will make it again.

I used to make this quite frequently and I just happened upon this recipe again. It's tastier with the vanilla. I added 1 tsp. of vanilla to the recipe and it made for a very good breakfast. I usually spread strawberry jam on it in place of the powered sugar.
