Reasons why tape in hair extensions are the best type of hair extension:
- Price
Tape in hair extensions are semi-permanent and are fairly inexpensive as far as hair extensions go. They are one of the least expensive semi-permanent ways of extending hair in terms of buying them and applying them. This hair extension method takes under an hour to fit, which obviously keeps costs down. In terms of maintenance, the costs are much lower too if you compare it to other hair extensions that last a similar length of time.
Comparatively, the hair for tape in hair extensions costs the same as good clip in extensions. This is considerably cheaper than micro rings and fusion hair extensions. This is because they are built in 1” panels of hair rather than individual sections. Overall, therefore, tape in extensions are really cost-effective. - Low maintenance
Since they are around 1 to 1.5” wide and are thin, tape in hair extensions are really easy to maintain. In fact, they’re probably the easiest type to maintain. Also, it’s really easy to forget you’re wearing tape in extensions since you don’t really have to do anything special to maintain them. Simply put, you tape them in and worry about them for 10 or so weeks when it’s time to reapply them closer to the root again. This is a reason why you should always go for high-quality products. Poorer quality hair and tape means that you will be re-applying them after a month and the hair will start to look poor. Individual extensions, on the other hand, are not reusable. Clip extensions can be reused but these do seem to wear out quicker than tape ones. Removing tape extensions takes around a quarter of an hour, so it’s really not long at all compared to removing individual extensions (which will take hours and will take lots of hair with them!). - You can’t see them

Hand - Tied Wefts

Micro rings ( cold fusion)
5mm tube with a inner silicone tube to cushion the clients hair from any risk of damage or breakage, no keratin or glue is hot fused into the hair so removal time is minimal without hair loss or breakage. Application time is approx 2 hrs and Removal time is approx 1 hour. The ring is placed 5mm away from the hairline and clamped with a clamping pliers. There is less shedding of the hair, you can reuse the hair strands by rebonding the hair when a reinstallation occurs, the hair itself lasts for months and months if the proper care and treatments are used. Reinstallation occurs every 8 - 12 weeks when all hair is removed, rebonded and re-inserted with new rings.
Keratin Bonds ( hot fusion )
The keratin bond is not a glue but a protein bond, this method is most well known, fusion tips are formed in a U shape hence calling it U - tipped hair extentions. The strands can be bonded on hair that is 3-4 inches long. To remove the fusion system a special acetone based remover is applied on the keratin bond. If that does not break the bond then you need to crush the bonds with pliers and further comb the keratin out, this may cause breakage in the wrong hands. Application time is approx 4 hrs and removal time is approx 4 hrs. You will need to use non silicone products on hair as it will cause the bonds to slip, you will need to use plenty of treatmentson the hair, it is also harder to do a reinstallation of the hair, there is far more shedding than the micro ring instation.
