10 Best Epilators In Canada For 2024 - Canadians Best (2024)

Table of Contents

A study has revealed that women spend up to 72 days shaving in an average lifetime, and that is just for legs.A phenomenal statistic I’m sure you’ll agree, to be honest, a rather shocking one too. Nobody likes these kinds of statistics, especially when they are seemingly unavoidable.

The best epilators will reduce this time significantly and offer a better solution for hair removal, on various parts of the body. Albeit not the most painless solution available, but definitely a more efficient option than shaving, and one that brings more appealing results in the long run.

However, this couldn’t be further from the truth, modern technology has produced Epilators to speed up the whole process of hair removal.

What is the Best Epilator in Canada?

The Canadian market is very similar to other western markets in regards to epilators. You will still find the top brands such as Braun, Panasonic, Emjoi, Philips and Remington, all on sale with familiar models.

The best is probably the Braun Silk-epil line, and they range from 1 to 9. 9 being the latest, and most improved epilator, but obviously being the most expensive. You can go back as far as the Silk-epil 7 and Silk-epil 5 without feeling like you are missing out on too much of the new improvements, like the wider epilation head in the silk-epil 9. Often its worth the extra money, as it saves you time in the long run, with more efficient motors and wider epilation heads.

  • Epilators are tricky for first timers, see our Epilator user guide and tips to learn more

The Emjoi epilator range are also great, they don’t often come with a full bundle package like the Braun series epilators, however they are contoured, compact and discreet, excellent for travel and lightweight use. Appearance wise, definitely more appealing altogether. The Emjoi Emagine and Emjoi Erase are both great models, with the Erase e60 making out list due to its compact design, and wired connection, for a stable epilation session without fear of battery loss.

Other worthy models would be the Philips Satinelle epilator, purely for one of the best lightweight, compact and best selling model on the market, its also one of the cheapest on our list, so if you’re looking for a budget epilator, it’s a great choice, along with the similar Erase e60 wired model.

1. Braun Silk-épil 9

2148 Reviews | 4.1 Stars | Wet & Dry Epilator

What we think:

Our best, the Silk-épil 9 has a 40% wider epilation head, when compared with the Silk-épil 7, meaning you can cover a larger area in a shorter amount of time. This being one of the main reasons for the increased price.

The tweezer system utilizes a microgrip technology, which grips the hairs tightly, fully removing hair. It also has a very low reach, pulling hairs that are often missed in shaving or waxing treatments. Unlike the Satinelle this model can be used in the wet and dry alike. Although newer Phillips models also carry this capability.

What you think:

My first made me sweat, even cry, but the following three weeks of being a hairless beauty made it worth it. I have course, thick hair and I’ve been waxing off and on for 25 years. But I have transitioned, I actually really love the stupid torture device. It really does grab tiny hairs; I was able to epilate on hairs after 2 days of growth. Be warned! Your first experience may send you through the roof but each session after that gets easier and easier. It’s like the hairs know what’s coming and give up. Basically, if you’re a waxer, get this little buddy instead.

Key Features

  • Wider Epilating Head than the Silk 7
  • Microgrip Tweezers
  • Wet and Dry Capability

1106 Reviews | 4.1Stars | Best Travel Epilator

What we think:

This is a great choice and has corded and cordless power options, and the cordless has twice the charge of the Panasonic above, at 60 minutes.

With an ergonomic design and rubber side panels, this makes the perfect travel epilator, given the charge time and the lightweight and compact design. It can be easily stored away in the free carry case and has compartments for each accessory and attachment.

What you think:

“This device has changed my grooming habits completely. No messy wax, no nasty stubble right away. Although it is slightly fragile, so be careful not to drop it from a great height, as it can misplace the tweezer heads. Only downside is that it can be pretty painful especially on your first uses, but it does get better in time. I love it!”

10638 Reviews | 4.3Stars | Best Selling Epilator

What we think:

With huge sales figures, this compact epilator is a good choice for home hair removal. This can pull hairs down to 0.5mm at the lowest point, however, it is better to take the hairs at 3-4mm with this model. It’s easy to take apart and clean when needed, washable with water straight from the faucet. Additionally, with a corded power connection you will enjoy interrupted sessions of torture, I mean treatment! 2 power settings will also help you attack different areas of thickness on the body.

What you think:

Great for armpits and arms and legs, I’m baby smooth all the time now. It will remove pubic hair but also cause profound suffering. As tribute to the pain it inflicted on me, my S&M safe word is now “Satinelle”.

79 Reviews | 4.4 Stars | Cordless Epilator

What we think:

Brauns 7 model is one of the newer epilators on the market, as you can see by the low volume of reviews. However, you will also notice the seriously high score, so it’s being received well thus far. It can be used on wet and dry skin and comes with a massive variety of extras.

Up to 7 attachments and bonuses come in this value bundle, including a shaver and pouch for storage. Additionally a trimmer, facial and skin contact caps all come in the package. This newer model boats greater hair removal than the previous models.

What you think:

“It’s pretty comfortable to use for long periods of time, which is important since epilating takes a lot of patience. You have to go slowly over the skin. It’s not possible to just whiz over like you would with a razor or electric shaver. You have to go slow, take your time and go over an area a few times to catch everything. A time consuming task, but it has its benefits. For me, I like the results on my underarms and bikini area the most. Those areas get the smoothest and stay hair free for the longest.”

  • Dry and Wet Choices
  • Free Cap Attachments
  • Free Shaver and Pouch

2490 Reviews | 3.9 Stars | Cordless Epilator

What we think:

An economical and cordless option from Remington. This compact epilator comes with 2-speed settings for light and dense areas of hair, beginners can start with the lower setting and work their way up to the higher, when you have become more pain tolerant.

The epilating head has over 40 tweezers, which provides full hair removal coverage for the treatment zone. It also comes with a few extra attachments, like the massage and precision caps for aloe vera and contoured areas of skin.

What you think:

“The product isn’t bad. I’ve used it in the shower as well as on dry skin. I have extremely dense, thick hair and it was able to remove most of it. It took me about 20 minutes to do one leg and I noticed the device was a bit noisy, other than that I have no huge complaints. There is a light on it which is more helpful than you would first thing. Overall, you get what you pay for and it does the job.”

  • 40 Tweezer Head
  • Cordless and Compact

2040 Reviews | 3.6 Stars | Amazons Choice Award

What we think:

This top-seller from Emjoi is a great choice and has earned the amazon choice award. Due to combining a high number of sales with an equally high positive user response. It can remove hairs as low as 0.5mm and offers a staggered head system, which works to counter ingrowing hairs.

72 tweezers are integrated into the head and can remove a larger quantity of hair than most brands out there, in the target area. One of our favorite features is the Silver Ion technology. What this basically means is that there is a protective property in place to prevent infection, which can sometimes happen on sensitive skin if uncared for, post-treatment.

What you think:

“Does it hurt? Yes, but the pain gets less and less each time you use it. Actually electrolysis hurt the worst. It’s well worth the money and my skin looks great now. I love that there are no batteries to keep charged up and I can go two weeks without needing to do a session, the hairs are staying away longer. I’d recommend this to any of my friends and family!”

  • Anti-Infection Technology
  • 72 Tweezer Epilating Head
  • Corded Power

952 Reviews | 4.1 Stars | Amazons Choice Award

What we think:

Slightly above average cost but it does come with a serious amount of extras. It can be used in wet or dry and comes with a large number of attachments. 6 in total, including a pedicure buffer, razor and varying sizes of epilating heads. A cool feature for those with sensitive skin is the hypo-allergenic blades that are perfect for removing hairs on fragile areas. The pop-up tray collects any longer length hairs that are removed, saving a clear up job.

What you think:

I just love this epilator! I tried epilating years ago, before moving to waxing and lasers for hair removal. But waxing was expensive, as were the lasers. I did some research and tried this Panasonic and I love it. You can use it everywhere and I do, even to maintain my brazilian. I love that it has a bigger epilating head and a smaller one, for tight places, haha. I love that it’s easily cleaned by putting a drop of liquid soap and turning it on under the faucet, it causes it to foam and cleans the heads. Great product!

  • Pedicure Buffer

587 Reviews | 3.7 Stars | Facial and Body Epilator

What we think:

A beautifully designed, corded epilator with a ton of cool features. The dual heads are opposed, to taut the skin automatically during your session, saving you a lot of work with your hands. The head has 60 tweezers inside 2 compartments, which has a smooth lining to glide over the skin, preventing any irritation. This is, of course, more difficult to stop on sensitive skin, but it helps to keep your motions smoother during the treatments regardless. It can be used on the face and body alike, although I might personally want to use a small target zone for contoured areas of the face.

What you think:

“When it arrived I loved the way it looked (pink and mint), but I most loved the way it performs. It is easy to use and clean due to the small and compact design. The dual head made things easier and much faster. I do have sensitive skin and the rotating head for detailed areas but I prefer not to use that. I use it regularly on my underarm area and my arms and after months of use I can confidently give it a 5 stars!”

Key Features

  • Stable Corded Power
  • Dual Epilating Heads
  • Cuts Down to 0.3mm

1644 Reviews | 4.3 Stars | Multi-Functional Epilator

What we think:

The sheer variety of attachments adds some solid value to this Panasonic epilator. The 5 attachments have alternating sizes to deal with specific areas of the body, like bikini lines and sensitive or detailed areas.

The package also comes with a travel pouch, so you can keep all the pieces in one place. A ‘gentle’ head attachment allows you to just give yourself a top up without roughing the skin up too much in the process, great for maintaining soft, hairless skin.

What you think:

“I did some research and tried the Panasonic. I love it and can use it all over my body, even to maintain my Brazilian. Using the bigger epilating head for my legs and I use the smaller one for tighter places, haha. It’s easily cleaned and can just air dry after on the side. It does hurt somewhat in sensitive areas but the gentle head softens the blow.”

10. Epilady Classic Coil

114 Reviews | 3.3 Stars | Best Coil Epilator

What we think:

You’ll notice immediately that this is unlike any other epilator on our list. This is the original epilady that has a coiled epilating head and a very slim design. If you’ve never seen these before the coils basically rotate in a circular motion, catching the hairs in-between the coils as it turns, pulling the hair out directly. The good thing about the classic model, it does not discriminate! It will pull out all hairs regardless of color and creed and thickness of hairs, course or light they will be destroyed! the Martin Luther King of epilation.

What you think:

“These models been around since the ’90s and It still performs great. It has a European power cord, but comes with a North American adapter. It also has a pink zippered carrying case. In general, Epilady pulls coarse hair out, roots and all. However, finer hairs may break off closer to the surface. To prevent that you can wait for your hair to grow a bit before going in to a session. Hair has to be a bit long just like waxing. Albeit it’s more painful than waxing, but way more convenient.”

-Source: high rated user comment from Amazon_verified purchase

Key Features

  • Slim, Compact Design
  • Can Tweeze Faster than Modern Epilators
  • Free Adapter and Pouch

Conclusion

So that rounds off today’s list of modern torture devices, ahem excuse me I mean Epilators! The reviews were hilariously honest and give us a good insight into which models perform the best, additionally, the volume of ratings speak for themselves.
